Turkey pasties!

Yes they do exist, mum invented them These were what made christmas special on boxing day. Dad would often fetch a turkey which he preordered from a farm at Barrow gurney. He did this along with two cockerals for his sisters. After we celebrated christmas morning, mum would cook the turkey so would have it for 3pm on chistmas day. Mum would often strip the turkey carcase that evening, white meat for sandwiches and red for the pasties. Dad alway got a large turkey, so there was always loads of pasties. Again we never had a fridge or freezer so the leftover pasties were stored in the cold oven. The pasties were very filling, mum served them up with beans and chips. It was not uncommon for us to be well and truly stuffed after this meal. My son now makes ours as when he was young I carried on the tradition, which he and his sister loved.
